Cedar Point Sign

Directions:
Cedar Point is not actually on Dauphin Island, but is the area that can be seen just before the bridge from the mainland. My suggestion is to bird here on your way to the island, because once you cross that bridge you may not ever want to leave!!

Cedar point birding areas:
The water that lines the road here is good for swimming/diving birds such as grebes (eared, pied-billed) and mergansers (common, red-breasted).

The area around the fishing pier is also good for several kinds of blackbirds, such as grackles (common and boat-tailed) and red-wings. Also, egrets and herons of all kinds are easily found.
