Do not think that these are the only places to get good birds. Anywhere on the island can produce birds that are spectacular. Just get out and drive around, if you see something fly into the trees, check it out. If you see a something floating in the water, check it out. If you see a lot of people pulled over to the road with binoculars and scopes, definitely stop and check it out. You never know what they may be looking at. Just be safe....don't bird in the middle of the road....and if you stop to look, get as far from the flow of traffic as possible. And most of all, enjoy Dauphin Island, even if you don't bird. I don't think there is a more relaxing place in the world. "Mayberry by the sea", as I have heard it called, is worth spending time at, whenever you can.
